Date: 17th September 2026
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the tentative examination calendar, setting the timeline for the UGC NET December 2026 Cycle.
If you are gearing up for the upcoming eligibility test, it is time to structure your revision, power through previous year questions (PYQs), and lock down your mock test strategy. Here is the complete breakdown of the dates and essential guidelines.
The main examinations are scheduled to take place over a span of six days, followed immediately by designated buffer slots.
NTA will release two crucial pre-exam documents on the official portal ahead of the test:
City Intimation Slip: Tells you the designated city where your exam center is located so you can plan your travel in advance.
Admit Card: The mandatory legal ticket to enter the hall. It contains your exact exam center address, shift timing, reporting time, and specific instructions.
⚠️ Crucial Note: Your City Intimation Slip is NOT your Admit Card. You must download and print the official Admit Card to carry to the exam center along with valid photo identification.
With the exam window locked for mid-December, treat this timeline as your ultimate countdown. Streamline your syllabus, solve continuous mock tests under timed conditions, and regularly check the official NTA web portals for specific shift allocations and detailed guidelines.
